Scholar of global distinction program
WHAT IS THE PROGRAM?
WPCC’s Scholar of Global Distinction Program is for students who want to earn an Associate of Arts degree with a global focus by completing 15 credit hours of globally intensive courses, by participating in WPCC’s World View Club and its activities, by gaining global experience in study-travel or domestic intercultural activities, and by completing a capstone presentation related to their global learning experience. Completers of the program receive a “Graduated with Global Distinction” notation on their WPCC transcript and wear a special cord at their graduation ceremony.
Admission requirements
ENROLLMENT
- Enrollment in WPCC’s Associate in Arts degree program or CCP transfer pathway
COMPLETION
- Completion of no more than 15 credit hours of your program of study
COMMITMENT
- Commitment to completion of all requirements for earning the distinction

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
International activities & dialogues

- Completion of 15 credit hours of globally intensive courses within the Associate in Arts program of study
- Active membership in WPCC’s World View Club
- Completion of 8 international activities and dialogues
- Completion of 30 hours of global experience, which can consist of one or more of the following activities
– An international study-travel trip
– A mission trip for the purpose of volunteer work
– The Study Abroad Association’s free Global 360 Cultural Studies Virtual Term Abroad
– Domestic intercultural experiences
– Global-oriented volunteer work - Delivery of a capstone presentation during final WPCC semester
- Documentation and reflection of program activities in an e-Portfolio
