Academic Counseling:
- Academic Advising / Course Selection – Students are assisted in making educational plans, selecting appropriate courses, meeting academic requirements, and planning for high school graduation and college admissions.
- Test Taking and Study Skills Development – Individualized or group assistance is provided to students to help develop and enhance the skills needed to succeed in an academic setting. Resources are made available to students for self directed test preparation for the SAT/ACT. Additionally, students are provided valuable information regarding their learning styles so that appropriate study techniques can be utilized.

College Counseling:
- College Orientation Activities – ETS provides intensive counseling services related to college enrollment. Services can include informational workshops, college application assistance, financial aid counseling, and exploration through college campus tours.
- College Application Assistance – ETS participants are advised in the process for successful completion of online and paper college admission applications. Deadlines, essays, neatness, completeness, clarity of information, and proof reading are all addressed in these counseling sessions.
- Financial Aid Assistance – Finding money for college is one of the most important components of the college admissions experience. ETS actively engages in helping participants and parents complete the FAFSA which determines the student’s eligibility for the Pell Grant and other federal and state grants and loans. In addition, ETS helps students conduct scholarship searches, interpret financial aid award letters, and establish communications with financial aid offices.
Personal Enrichment:
- Cultural Activities – The ETS program sponsors many cultural activities such as field trips, special lectures and symposiums, museum tours, theatrical events, leadership programs, critical thinking and team building activities for the purpose of enriching a student’s academic and personal development.
